while in high school nearly 20 years ago, hoping to show his short films in the school auditorium, Jenks asked his teacher to help him start the All American High School Film Festival, which has become the biggest high school film festival in the world.

with submissions from over 40 countries, the non-profit has given over $3 million dollars in scholarships and prizes and during its annual weekend event, over 200 short films from high school filmmakers around the world are shown at the amc theaters in times square, New York City.

The festival’s full-time executive director is andrew’s former teacher who helped him start it 20 years ago.
